Skip HirshSkip moved to Transylvania County in February of 2007. Having spent his entire life in a military family moving from place to place, or in the highly transient Washington, DC metropolitan area, he had always been looking for a place to call home....he finally found it in Brevard, NC. His background is in information technology and management consulting with specializations in security and disaster recovery, a career he is relieved to leave behind.
Now, in his second life, he is a dedicated community volunteer and leader. He is on the Board of the Brevard Music Center Association of Volunteers, the Transylvania Vision Program, and the Pisgah Forest Rotary Club. He supports Heart of Brevard, and the Transylvania Sports and Recreation Foundation as a volunteer....in his remaining free time occasionally eats and sleeps. Chris KellyChris Kelly grew up idolizing the legendary voice of the Tar Heels' Woody Durham and the late Bob Fulton of the South Carolina Gamecocks. The great voices of ABC, NBC, and CBS Sports Commentators have all influenced this Asheville native, who is currently "living the dream" here at WSQL 1240 AM radio.
Chris is the play by play voice of the Brevard College Tornados and covers the Sports for the Don DeBiase show every weekday morning at 6:45 and 8:35 am. Chris lives in Asheville with his wife Jane, and their children; Zach, Johnny, and Angel. Contact Chris at: [email protected] |
